#WhiteSpringmas

It ain't even cold outside, not where I'm from

Feeling like it's mid-April under the sun

My parka don't get no love, no hats and no gloves

But it's the holiday season, and I want to do some winter things

Okay, enough of repurposing Ariana Grande lyrics, it definitely does not feel like Christmas right now. A combination of the warm weather and not a hint of snow, the holiday crept up this year and next thing you know it's 7 days until we ring in 2016. I'll skip the cheese for my new years post, so all I'm going to say is that in light of Boxing Day tomorrow, everything I'm wearing just happens to be on sale :).

Merry Springmas to all, and to all a goodnight!

#SnowProblem

Went into H&M looking for an ugly Christmas sweater to wear to a White Elephant exchange, and ended up snagging this cute holiday shirt from the men's section. It's been on high rotation since, doubling as pyjamas at night. The weather has been incredibly warm for this time of year, so it still amazes me that I haven't yet reached for my parka. Not complaining, but it would be nice to have a white Christmas.

#Neutrals

50 shades of... Beige? Taupe? Nude?

This neutral palette was inspired by Hot Miami Styles' mocha turtleneck bodysuit, which they kindly sent me. It's the first bodysuit I've ever owned, and probably my last as I just can't wrap my head around the need to unbutton a flap every time I need to use the restroom. This very reason is also why I stay away from rompers. However, impracticality aside, it's a versatile piece that I can see myself pairing with various items.

#Turks&Caicos

I wanted to share some highlights from my trip to the gorgeous Turks and Caicos (T&C) with bae and 2 of our friends. Got back 2 days ago and already missing the Caribbean sun. I aimed to come back a different race and although I didn't quite get there, still ended up with a bronze glow that I'm hoping lasts me through the dry Canadian winter.

Even as we were landing, you can see how turquoise the water is. At this point, I was jumping in and out of my seat, not able to contain my excitement.

We stayed at the beautiful Atrium Resort (booked through Airbnb):

After we got settled in, we knew the first thing we wanted to do was hit the beach. A local recommended Flamingo Beach, which wasn't too far from the Atrium. We only had a couple hours until sunset, so we made the most of our time there. I do want to note that I have never stepped foot on such fine and soft sand than until I got to T&C. It feels like you're walking on micro-foam pillows. I hate walking, but I will walk 500 miles if it's on this sand.

T&C is known for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters, so it's no surprise that the majority of our time was spent on the beaches. If you plan on visiting, ensure Taylor Beach is one of your stops. It's a local favourite, as well as mine. The water is still, shallow and crystal clear so it's great for snorkelling, paddle boarding or simple frolicking. The last 2 pictures below are of Taylor Beach.

If you know me, you know I love paddle boarding and will jump at the opportunity every chance I get. I did a lot of paddle boarding in T&C, and I find it's a great workout, a quick way to get an allover tan, and allows you to see more of the island. Also threw in a behind-the-scenes shot ;)

Below are details of a few of my outfits:

Forever 21 White Dress (Old) // Topshop Nude Midi Dress (Similar here and here) and Forever 21 Denim Jacket // Club Monaco Black Crop Top (Old), Aritzia Babaton Antoine Shorts and Quay 'Cha Cha' Sunglasses // Forever 21 Floral Maxi Dress with Slit (Old)

It actually took multiple attempts to do the couple's yoga pose. It's harder than it looks! Also, there's a really cute dessert place called Melt worth checking out. It's a little pricey, but recommend trying at least once. Get the brownie sundae if you plan on going!

Highly recommend Bugaloo's and Somewhere Cafe for lunch. Both are situated right by the water so you get the island vibe along with a spectacular view. The tacos and fries at Somewhere are a must try!

Conch is native to T&C and there is a large abundance of it. Every restaurant you go to will have conch on the menu, offered in various ways (conch salad, conch fritters, battered conch, conch pasta etc.). Bugaloo's catches conch right from the ocean and sells the shell to tourists. If you don't mind the shell not being polished, you can find many along the shoreline of all the beaches.

Another cool thing you can do is rent a puppy for a couple hours to socialize them at Potcake Place. It's a dog rescue charity that aims to reduce the number of homeless potcakes on the island. They give you everything you need when you take the puppy out, and all the puppies are well behaved, not to mention incredibly adorable! We had the honour of playing with Hugo, who was only 3 months old.

On our last day, we quickly visited Chalk Sound, which offers the bluest waters I have ever seen.

We spent close to a week there, and it was some much needed R&R. The island itself is quite small, so there aren't a lot of people. The locals are all very friendly, and love starting a conversation with you. If you're looking for a place to party, T&C isn't for you. There's not much to do outside of water activities, and it gets very quiet past sunset. However, there is a Fish Fry every Thursday, which is comparable to a small night market where locals and tourists alike come together for food, music and pure fun. Local restaurants and gift shops close early to set up for this event, and it's a great way to meet new people and wind down.

The food is great, but there isn't a large variety. I can sum up what I ate down to conch and jerk chicken. Needless to say, I think I've had enough conch to last me a lifetime. Other great restaurants to check out are Caico's Cafe, Coco Bistro (reserve 2 weeks in advance), and Chinson's Grill Shack (best Jamaican patties and festivals). Already drooling thinking of it..

Overall, T&C is a great place to wind down and relax if you're a beach bum like me. Don't forget to pack on that sunscreen because that Carribean sun is strong!

Review: Welcoming New Kat Von D Lippies

Kat Von D's new Fall shades in her Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks have been sold out for quite some time. Right when I got the 'in stock' notification on my phone, I quickly added the items to my cart and in doing so bumped into a pole as I was walking to work. T'was worth, and now y'all get a review!

Swatches left to right: Beloved, Melancholia, Mother, Bow N Arrow

1) Mother (Currently sold out) - You'll be impressing everyone and their mothers with this gorgeous dusty mauve pink -- the spawn of Sephora's 13 Marvelous Mauve and Kat Von D's Bauhau5. Mother compliments all complexions and provides the perfect pop of colour, while still muted enough for everyday office wear.

Yay or Nay? Yay, only if you don't already have Marvelous Mauve, Bauhau5, or a similar shade. Let's be real, $24+tax is a lot for a shade twin.

2) Bow N Arrow (Currently sold out) - Bow N Arrow is very picky with who she makes friends with. This shade is hard to pull off and I haven't decided if I can or not. If you have a paler complexion, pair it with some blush and a smokey eye and you'll be shooting men right in their tracks. Otherwise, you'll look half dead.

Yay or Nay? Yay if you're a true 90s baby, don't have brown lips naturally, and on the fairer side.

3) Beloved (Currently sold out) - Easily my favourite shade out of the bunch. The coral is soft enough that I'm not afraid to wear it out in public (unlike Sephora's 04 Coral Crush). This is a must-have in your purse, and is great all year round.

Yay or Nay? Absolutely yay! All you need is one layer and then get ready to pucker up.

4) Melancholia (Currently NOT sold out) - I love love love this shade! Not sure why it was named what it was, as it's the complete opposite of deep sadness and gloom. It's a classic pale, mod pink that makes you appear more tanned.

Yay or Nay? Yay, only if you don't suffer from chronic dry lips. Exfoliate prior to application, or your lip lines will be very prominent. Also, who doesn't want to look more tanned in the middle of winter?

I recommend adding your email to the waitlist online at Sephora so you're notified the moment the lippies are back in stock. Let me know in the comments which ones were your faves!

Now off to Turks & Caicos!!!

#NoFace

For anyone that doesn't get the reference above, shame. Also my face on the derpometer was a classic Patrick, so no face it is! I had the honour of being an elf that night for my company's first Kids Christmas Party and it was the most fun I've had in awhile. It's scary how smart kids are nowadays! When I was 3 I could barely talk, much less make snow globes and tree ornaments.

#OnceYouGoBlack...

You don't go back. Or in my case I do, and this all black leather 'about-to-rob-a-bank' get-up was because my black laundry pile had just been washed and I wasn't feeling creative that day. Also it's starting to get really cold and my #rbf is becoming more permanent.

6 Beauty Favourites I Can't Live Without

I'm not the type to leave the house without my face on, but I'm also not the type to need (or want) 3+ items just to do my eyebrows. Below I've highlighted my 6 current go-to items I am obsessing over and absolutely cannot live without.

1) BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick - Fly High - This will soon be added to my 'empties', and is the only lipstick that has gotten this close to being finished. The lilac pink shade makes it wearable for everyday, and it's super creamy and pigmented leaving a rich satin finish. It makes my lips feel and appear baby soft, while conditioning them at the same time with Vitamin A, C and E. I will be repurchasing this 10x over.

2) Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - Trooper - I've tried multiple liquid liners, from drugstore brands to more high-end ones and Kat Von D takes the win. The thin precise brush tip helps me draw the perfect cat eye, even on the go-train. It takes seconds to apply and dries instantly. I have oily lids and this liner does not budge all day, even when rubbed. It's also waterproof so highly recommend if you're looking to do a sad chick flick marathon anytime soon.

3) Sephora Retractable Waterproof Brow Pencil - Midnight Brown - I recently bought this after a friend recommended it, and it hasn't left my makeup bag since. It's a cheaper dupe of Anastasia's Brow Wiz and makes me look forward to doing my eyebrows in the morning. My eyebrows stay put all day, and it takes half the time than using Anastasia's Dipbrow Pomade.

4) Anastasia Contour Kit - Light to Medium - My friend gifted this to me on my birthday and it quickly became my HG. I wear a lot of bronzer, so I'd always empty Benefit's Dallas within a few months. This kit offers 3 shades of bronzer for contouring, as well as 3 shades of highlighter. It allows me to be versatile with my makeup - days where I'm feeling bloated and want to go for a more contoured look vs. days where I want to look 12 and just use highlighter.

5) Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette - The Naked2 Basics palette was on high rotation before discovering this yummy palette when I was searching for the perfect burgundy shade. There are 16 matte and shimmer shadows ranging from basic neutral shades for everyday looks, to more smokey shades for a night out. I love that it's scented with real chocolate, so I can indulge every morning without eating actual chocolate.

6) L'oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Rock Mascara - Blackest Black - I have typical asian lashes that are pin straight and don't curl very easily. Just one coat of this mascara lengthens and lifts my lashes to the point I'll get compliments on how long my lashes are. If you're already blessed with long, thick lashes, 1) I hate you, and 2) this mascara will make it look like you're wearing dramatic falsies - and there ain't nothing wrong with that!

Thought I'd share the impact just doing my eyebrows and adding mascara can make. The right side of my face is sans mascara, eyebrow pencil and lipstick. Whoever said "eyebrows frame the face" and "mascara makes your eyes pop" knew exactly what they were talking bout.

Put everything together and voila! Also cheers to 5 day old hair.

What are some of your beauty favourites? Let me know if you want a full everyday make-up tutorial :)

#WhiteOut

Let's be real, white stays white only never. You already risk getting makeup on it while changing, then there's at least 10 hours of avoiding food stains during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Let's not forget to account for unforeseen stains from walking, driving, or simply sitting. It's a classic case of #firstworldproblems, but if you're lucky enough to make it home spotless, you've made it farther than 90% of your peers and deserve a large plate of juicy ribs.

#NotAnAromaAd - With CV Photography

Contrary to what some of these pictures may show, this is not an Aroma ad. I ordered a simple hot chocolate, but they must not have heard the chocolate part because it tasted like hot bland milk. This is my second collab with the lovely CV Photography and definitely not the last! Do ignore the bulge that is my ankle as this was 30 minutes-post-sprain :).

I've also recently teamed up with Lawsofashion! You'll be able to find all my upcoming fashion posts and my recent #2Fast2FURious post there, as well as other fashion inspirations created by other bloggers globally.

Couldn't stop feeling myself in this incredibly soft faux fur vest from Aritzia. I decided to layer a jean jacket underneath for some added warmth and dimension. This is probably my favourite outfit to date, and is a perfect example where comfort and chic play Switzerland and aren't butting heads.

DIY: Halloween Sushi Costume (No Sew)

The theme this year for Halloween in my department at work was 'Emojis', so it was either poop or sushi. I opted for sushi because I was inspired by a cute DIY for babies online, and decided to put my own twist on it. Still one day left until Halloween so feel free to make your own sushi, save this for next year, or just go out and eat sushi like I probably will.

Materials: 1) Headband (Shown: Dollar store elastic flower headband), 2) 1x1 metre orange felt, 3) 0.5x0.5 metre white felt, 4) 1 sheet of light pink felt, 5) 0.5x0.5 metre green felt, 6) 10 centimetre x 1 metre black felt, 7) Bag of stuffing (Shown: Polyester stuffing from Fabricland), 8) White dress (Shown: Aritzia Babaton Dress), 9) Black satin belt (optional), 10) Hot glue gun and scissors

Shrimp - Orange and white felt, stuffing ; Seaweed wrap - Black felt and optional satin belt; Wasabi/Ginger headband - Headband, green and light pink felt ; Rice - White dress

PART ONE - SHRIMP

I decided to go with shrimp, but you can opt for tuna, salmon, unagi or whatever sashimi floats your boat.

Step 1 - Fold the orange felt in half, then trace an outline of a shrimp. Draw it slightly larger than you want the shrimp to be, to allow room to hot glue the edges.

Step 2 - Cut out the outline being careful to line up both sides of the felt.

Step 3 - You should now have 2 identical (or nearly) shrimp outlines. Place them directly on top of each other to prepare for hot glue.

Step 4 - Once your hot glue gun is warmed up, glue along the edges of the shrimp starting at the top and working your way to the tail. Leave enough room at the tail for stuffing.

Step 5 - Leave the inside edges of the tail unglued to allow room to put in the stuffing. Set aside the shrimp for now.

Step 6 - Fold the white felt in half and cut 4 small stripes to add dimension to the shrimp. I used this image as a gauge.

Step 7 - Hot glue the stripes onto the shrimp then begin stuffing it from the tail.

Step 8 - Hot glue the inner sides of the tail to secure the stuffing inside the shrimp.

Voila! You're now done with your shrimp :). Try not to eat it.

PART TWO - WASABI/GINGER HEADBAND

A) WASABI

Step 1 - Cut out 9 small circles about 2 inches wide from the green felt.

Step 2 - Take 1 circle and fold it in half twice.

Step 3 - Take the double folded circle and hot glue it to another circle for the base.

Step 4 - Double fold 3 more circles and hot glue it to the base to make a full pizza.

Step 5 - We're now going to create a second layer using the same steps as above. Double fold 4 more circles and hot glue it in the same manner.

Step 6 - Take two connecting sides of the double layer pizza and hot glue it as shown in the left image below. Do the same to the other two connecting sides.

Step 7 - Fluff out the wasabi to make it look more natural.

You're now finished with the wasabi!

B) GINGER

Step 1 - Cut 4 long strips from the light pink felt. No need for a ruler, we don't need precision here.

Step 2 - Take 1 strip and cut it into about 9 cm. Fold the two ends into the middle so it forms 2 loops/bunny ears.

Step 3 - Hot glue one side of the bunny ears onto 1 long strip for the base, as shown in the right image below.

Step 4 - Shorten the long strip used as the base into about 6 cm.

Step 5 - Repeat the same steps to the other side of the base, hot gluing a double loop/bunny ears.

Step 6 - Continue to hot glue more loops, creating the shape of a fan, similar to NBC's logo or a peacock's tail.

Step 7 - Glue the final loop together and you should end up with something similar to the left image below. The more imperfect it is, the more natural it'll look.

Step 8 - Now hot glue the wasabi and ginger onto a headband (I removed the flowers from the one I got) and you're done!

PART THREE - SEAWEED BELT

Step 1 - The black felt wasn't long enough to tie, so I glued a satin belt onto the ends to secure it better to my body.

And fini! Now let's put everything together...

This is the only time you'll ever see me do a peace sign in a picture. What I love about this costume is the polyester filled shrimp doubles as a soft pillow that you can now use post-Halloween. You have the option of using other fabric, but felt was the cheapest I could find. This entire DIY was under $30.

Happy Sushi making :)

#DontLeafMe

I was told it was going to be drizzy outside on Saturday, so I was expecting a lil wayne. What a re-leaf it stopped raining long enough to take pictures though. I've taken a lichen to gloomy weather because it offers the best lighting for shoots. Whoever said being punny is a wok in the park was clearly lying. Think I'm ending this blurbage at the white time, and I'm sure this won't be mist. There's definitely mushroom for improvement here, but I hope these will grow on you. Now lettuce all cry because these puns are soda pressing.

#PinkPawty - First Collaboration with CV Photography

This little pink gem reminds me of Candy Land in the movie Wreck It Ralph. It brings out my inner Barbie, and I can't help but belt out Aqua's 'Barbie Girl' as I'm shooting. Unlike Barbie though with her rigid plastic limbs that you can pop out and in as you please, my limbs are a little bit more delicate. A failed mid-air leap led to a sprained ankle (minor thankfully), but also meant I was treated like a spoiled princess all week.

The shoot is my first collaboration with Cam of CV Photography, and it definitely won't be my last. Cam is an amazing photographer with an even more awesome personality, and I highly encourage you to check out her work! Feel free to also creep her on Instagram.

Oh I guess I can talk about the outfit too. I've actually been on the prowl for the perfect grey fall coat and I finally found it at Topshop. It's been on repeat since I bought it, and it's not leaving anytime soon. These Jeffrey Campbell heels are also incredibly comfortable and I can't say that about many heels, period.

Review: Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks [feat. Kat Von D & Sephora]

Ever since I've discovered the existence of matte liquid lipsticks/lip stains, it's rare you'll see me use an actual lipstick [with the exception of Fly Away, from bareMinerals' Marvelous Moxie line - highly recommend]. They are truly a game changer in the world of lipsticks, and I am completely obsessed. The ones featured in this post are my all-time favourites, but I'll also mention the ones that didn't quite make the cut.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain swatches from top to bottom: 01 Always Red, 14 Blackberry Sorbet, 06 Pink Souffle, 13 Marvelous Mauve, 07 Cherry Blossom, 12 African Violet

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick swatches from top to bottom: Damned, Lolita, Lovesick, Susperia, Bauhau5, Backstage Bambi

KAT VON D'S EVERLASTING LIQUID LIPSTICK

DAMNED - Pop that cherry with this deep, dark vixen, and you'll conquer fall in style [as seen here]. This darker shade is not for the weak and is similar to Vampira, but the formula and consistency is 10x better.

LOLITA - One of the most sought after lip shades thanks to Miss Kylie Jenners, I've recently fallen back in love with this brown beauty. Rumor has it the more dusty rose Lolita is making a comeback soon. Whichever shade you opt for, this is a must for all you 90s babies.

LOVESICK - This lovely mauve nude shade is part of Kat Von D's new fall collection. It's the matte sister of bareMineral's Fly away, and y'all know how much I love that shade. It doesn't make your teeth appear yellow either, which is always a win in my books.

SUSPERIA - If you're a loyal reader, you'll remember my dislike for ColourPop's Grind in my review of their Lippie Stix. Another one from the new fall collection, this bright lavender is Grind's arch nemesis, better in every category.

BAUHAU5 - If you have to choose one shade, it's this one. There was a 2-3 month period where this was my go-to lippie for everything. It's the right amount of pigment, pop, and class that makes it my absolute favorite, and will guarantee compliments all around.

BACKSTAGE BAMBI - Bauhau5 had to learn to share the spotlight when I met Backstage Bambi. You know I'm looking to party when I bring out this vivid hot pink, because I'm actually a 75 year old grandma on the inside. It's a slightly less florescent version of Sephora's 08 Whipped Blush, and I'm already on my second tube.

SEPHORA'S CREAM LIP STAIN

07 CHERRY BLOSSOM - This is an absolutely gorgeous colour for all skin tones, especially for darker complexions. It's super pigmented, so all you need is one coat to last you the entire day.

06 PINK SOUFFLE - A soft muted pink, Pink Souffle not only sounds delicious, but is great for all complexions and perfect if you're going for a more natural look. Of course Vaseline or lip balm is the way to go if you're aiming for a neutral base, but a 'lil touch of pink never hurt anybody.

13 MARVELOUS MAUVE - Lolita's fabulous cousin, this shade has a more dusty pink undertone than brown. You really can't go wrong with a MLBB, nor can you have enough variations of it either.

12 AFRICAN VIOLET - Clearly my kryptonite are blue-toned pinks. Nicki Minaj is my inner spirit animal so I guess that explains why. Whenever I'm feeling vivacious, I like to amp up my lips with this fun, bold colour.

14 BLACKBERRY SORBET - Another classic must for fall! If the name doesn't entice you enough, how about the fact you can actually eat a sorbet and not have to worry about your lips partitioning into two colours afterwards.

01 ALWAYS RED - I'm very picky with my reds. This is similar to Kat Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick in Underage Red, my former HG. The difference is you don't need to apply, blot, and apply once more to ensure it lasts all day. Since this is a lip stain, there is little to no transfer.

Unfortunately for some reason, paired with my oily complexion, Underage Red and Outlaw from Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks would bleed onto my skin by mid-day, and by the end of the day I looked like Ronald McDonald. Always Red is a matte, bold, classic red that will stand the test of time.

Didn't quite make the cut:

- Sephora's 05 Infinite Rose - This is a great shade for some, depending on how dark your natural lip colour is. However, it just looked like I applied a layer of glitter over my bare lips.

- Sephora's 04 Coral Crush - Awesome nail polish colour, not so much for my lips. I'm all for crazy lip shades, but this was too florescent and coral for my complexion.

- Kat Von D's Berlin - I personally don't like shades that are in-between red and pink. This made me think of the post make out-with-red-lipstick-on look that I will always avoid.

- Kat Von D's L.U.V. - Love the deep purple, but when pitted against Susperia, Susperia is better for everyday wear due to the hint of pink in it.

SO WHO'S THE WINNER?

Depends what you value most:

Price: Sephora ($18 CDN vs. $24 CDN)

Application: Sephora (1 coat suffices as it's thicker, more pigmented vs. 2+ coats depending on the shade)

Variation in Shades: Kat Von D (25 vs. 14)

Longevity: Kat Von D

I love both brands' liquid lipsticks and would highly recommend trying both to see which one better suits your lips. I don't find either of them drying, even though they are extremely matte. I do put a base of Vaseline before any application, so that may help. You aren't going to go wrong with either brand, so HAPPY LIPPIE HUNTING!

#DoubleChinConcealer

A turtleneck is a quadruple threat. It's not only cozy, warm and cute, but it's a great cover-up for double chins, hickies, weird rashes, and of course your neck (for days where you just ain't feeling it). It's also versatile in what you pair it with, whether that be a skirt, jeans, leggings, shorts, or if long enough -- simply nothing.

#ThisIsParadise

What is your paradise? I'll be visiting Turks and Caicos next month, which has been deemed paradise on earth, and I'm sure it will be. However, my ideal version of paradise is to simply be able to eat as much sushi, drink as much bubble tea and sleep as much as I want, whenever I want, without worrying that I'd turn into Snorlax.

I stumbled upon this work of art while searching for booties down Queen St. Trying to find an exact dupe for Acne Studios' Jensen Boots is proving itself more difficult than I had imagined. Breaking in these Jeffrey Campbell flats is also taking longer than I would like. The back of my ankles are taking a beating, but other than that they're super comfortable. Speaking of super comfortable, I have these Babaton Cohen pants in 3 colours, and would invest in 5 more if I could.

#BeanieLyfe

October is when my beanies come out to play and don't crawl back into the closet until mid-April. They're cute, keep my tiny ears warm, and I don't have to worry about what my hair looks like. I bought this plush coat last year on sale and have been waiting for the perfect weather to wear it. It's as soft on the inside as it is on the outside, and you'll see me constantly petting it as if it were my own alpaca.

This outfit entails all your fall essentials: 1) Beanie, 2) Oversized coat, 3) Boyfriend Cut-offs, and 4) Black booties. I'll be doing a review on the Chloe 'Drew' in a separate blog post, but as a teaser, I friggin' love it.

Review: ColourPop Lippie Stix

Anyone that knows me knows I love playing up my lips. At only $5 USD and 75 different shades to choose from, try buying just one! ColourPop is 100% fur baby friendly, bunny approved and only test their products on humans. Every package also comes with a cute handwritten note, making the experience that much more personalized!

Clearly I have a thing for nudes and pinks...

PONY, Satin - This is one of my favourites! It glides effortlessly on your lips, leaving a satin finish that's not too matte, and not too glossy. I'm definitely channeling Nicki Minaj when I wear this, and I ain't complaining.

Yay or Nay? Yay! Just don't drink tea or coffee, as it may make your teeth look slightly yellow. Aside: Bare Minerals Fly Away is a similar shade, and doesn't make your teeth appear yellow. It has been my go-to lipstick for the past 2 months.

GOSSIP, Satin - Another blue pink favourite, I secretly stole this from Barbie when she wasn't looking.

Yay or Nay? Yay!

GRIND, Matte - I love purple, but this shade is too purple for my liking. I always mix it with a pink to dilute how deep the shade is, but it would look great on darker skin tones.

Yay or Nay? Nay. Colour aside, the application is like rubbing two faux leather leggings on a hot day -- for lack of a better metaphor. They definitely took matte to a next level.

TIPSY, Glossy - This shade is nice if you're going to an underground, glow-in-the-dark rave, with how neon it looks on. It's also super glossy, so avoid kissing, drinking or eating anything.

Yay or Nay? Nay. The shade didn't suit my skin tone, and I would feel uncomfortable leaving the house with it on.

SCANDY, Satin - A darker version of Gossip, this shade is a gorgeous neon magenta.

Yay or Nay? Yay for feeling scandy-lous!

BUTTON, Satin - Love, love, love this colour! It's completely wearable for everyday, and is similar to Mac's Velvet Teddy (but lasts longer and more moisturizing) and Bite's Glace/Leche (but won't break your wallet). Feel free to channel Kylie Jenner and take 37458345 selfies.

Yay or Nay? YAY x the # of times Kylie Jenner changes her Instagram captions.

BFF, Glossy - I thought I would feel fabulous in what I thought was the perfect JLO nude, but I felt the complete opposite. It's a more warm peach compared to Tipsy, but still did not suit my skin tone.

Yay or Nay? Nay.

CAKE, Satin - This is a bright pastel pink that is not for the faint hearted.  It's such a cute shade for spring and summer, and guaranteed to let you have your cake and eat it too.

Yay or Nay? Yay! I usually apply by dabbing it on, or blotting my lips once on a tissue because of how pigmented the colour is.

ROCKET, Satin - This shade is like the middle child between pink and red. It's not my go-to, but is a lovely shade nonetheless.

Yay or Nay? Yay, but if you're feeling indecisive with the other shades, opt this one out.

Staying Power - It lasts quite long for the price you're paying. Doesn't beat the staying power of other brands such as Kat Von D, Sephora and Bare Minerals, but nothing to fret about.

Scent - It smells like chocolate. C h o c o l a t e.

Verdict? I recommend doing research and looking up the swatch colours for each shade before purchasing. Know what finish you prefer (matte/satin/glossy), and what tones (warm/cool) work best for your complexion. Personally, I tend to opt for cool shades with a satin finish. I have very oily skin, so when paired with a glossy lip, say hello to your portable mirror. ColourPop offers a large variety of colours, and at their price point, they make it easy and fun to experiment with different shades.
